A kilometre outside the small town of Corciano lies this beautiful villa overlooking the lush, green hills covered in hazelnut trees, vines and olive groves. The area is also well known for its historical value with many important archaeological finds discovered here; all of which can be viewed at the Villa Giulia Museum in Rome.
The Villa has been divided in a way so that it is possible to accommodate groups of friends who want to spend their holiday together while maintaining a degree of independence. There is a large garden which is well equipped with garden furniture and a good sized swimming pool (6 x 15). You can make the most of the wood-fired pizza oven and grill outside and have some fun nights cooking in the open air.
The nearest railway station is at Civita Castellana (12 km) where you can also find a supermarket, and other essential supplies can be picked up from the butchers, bakers, grocers etc in Corchiano.

This was our third visit and the house and the environment are still offering the opportunity for a relaxing holiday with the whole family (6 adults and 5 children in the age of 12 - 2 years)
The swimming pool, the pizza oven and the outdoor BBQ are the places to meet each other, where the house and the environment are offering suffient possibilities for quiet activities. With Roma at an hour drive, for us it is the ideal place to stay.
Some fantastic days where we were lucky with the weather. Around 20 degrees each day. A heartily reception by an English speaking hostess. A large house with lots of room for us 8, including 2 children. Big living room, where we lit a fire in the fireplace. Good kitchen, when we finally figured out how the oven worked. The only minus is that here by the end of October, it was cold inside, since the heat doesn't get turned on before the beginning of November. Nice location. Silent and peaceful with a large garden. With car you can go to many exciting and beautiful places. Good to take the train to Rome, but it takes a while with a lot of stops. There was probably other, faster trains too.
Incredibly lovely house with 6 rooms, 6 bathrooms along with a separate mini-apartment on the 2. floor. We had an "adult department" on the ground floor. (two rooms with own bathrooms). And a "kids department" on the 1. floor (4 rooms with own bathrooms). We were 4 adults and 7 kids (10-16 years old).
The pool was often used - and the same with the internet access on the nearby "Friend's Cafe" - (A little bar on a tank station). The villa lies solitary in a small village - away from the road.
Remember suntan and mosquito spray, and order a stay at Villa Iris. The house, pool and are definitely exceeded our expectations!
