Casa Giubbonari Pietro is a good one bedroom apartment in a building that is itself an expression of Rome's history. Staying here in Via dei Giubbonari means that you are not more than a single minute's walk from the exciting and historic Campo de 'Fiori.
Parts of the building walls date back to the middle ages and we can see clearly the ancient aspects as the house rests on a large piece of Marble from Pompeius' theatre that protrudes from the wall. Whilst the first four floors date back to the middle ages, the two upper floors stem from the 1700's and the entire building was restored in 1996. This apartment is in the 3rd floor, with an elevator, so this means that you get a bit of air and there is a bit of distance from you and the noise outside.

We have once again spend Christmas and New Years in Rome, and this year we also had a great holiday. It was lovely to get back to the same apartment, which we feel at home in. We have had a great time at the many restaurants in the area, but have also shopped in the small local shops, and eaten at home. It is lovely to have the time to get around the city.
We spent 14 days in Rome for the Christmas and New Year. It's a different experience to spend so many days in a big city. There is time to move around to different areas and experience the life of Romans. When we lived in the apartment we bought from their local shops in markets, butchers, fishmongers and bakers.
We have been to the Christmas fair, and Peter's Square and heard the Pope speak 1. Christmas Day. We've done and seen a lot.
Casa Giubbonari Pietro is a nice, small apartment perfectly located near Campo dei Fioro - and there is an elevator! There is no noise from the street, since the apartment is turned away from Via Giubbonari out towards a backyard. There is on the other hand a lot of noise around the clock, coming from the 2 elevators serving the hotel on the other side and "our own". building. You experience it on the VERY small balcony which is turned out towards the backyard. (see the pictures). The only advantage: You can smoke here, if you do that. And it is weird, that the windows are without any shutters. It means, that if you want any air to come in, there is a free view in from the apartments on the other side - around 20 meters away.
