Hotel Ivanhoe does not have anything to do with the crusader that you might know from the television series or the roman. Ivanhoe is the story of one of the remaining Saxon noble families at a time when the nobility in England was overwhelmingly Norman. And thus had nothing to do with the Roman empire nor Rome by itself.
Enough history for now as the hotel is the leading subject here.
If you are not looking for anything really fancy, just practical, comfortable and value for money, you should consider hotel Ivanhoe.
If you like to take off to other areas in Rome, the railway and subway are just a few hundred meters away. In front of the hotel you find plenty of restaurants and bars and it gets quite lively once you leave the hotel.
The best hidden pearl of the hotel is at the rooftop of the building. The terrace here catches sunshine most of the day. Start your day with a lovely macchiato or have an aperativo before you head down town for your dinner. A tranquil setting if you require to be away from the city crowd.
Furthermore the hotel offers the basic facilities you can expect. The breakfast is not luxury, though offers enough choice for you to start your day in a good way. If you just want to hang in your room for a while, no problem. There is a snackbar for light snacks. You find WIFI internet in the reception and lobby area. Last but definitely not least is that we found the staff very helpful and friendly.
The hotel is actually quite small with only 24 rooms. The rooms are relatively small as well as the bathrooms. Though if you are not brining too much luggage, they are comfortable enough and most probably you will be out of the hotel most of your time while being in Rome. You can choose between a single, double or triple room. All rooms comes with the following amenities, minibar, telephone, tv, heating and air conditioning.
