There is Trastevere, and then there's Trastevere. There are streets where tourists flock to the many eateries' tables with the oh so quaint checkered tablecloths, whilst trying to keep the beggars at a distance, and then there are also the small alleys and "unknown" places where the locals hangout.
The square Piazza de 'Renzi belongs to the last category. There are two restaurants on the square and in the smallest of them, "Da Augusto", guests are usually finely-balanced between tourists and locals. Apart from this attraction and the occasional passing tourists who passes in search of the many other eateries in the area, this area belongs to the locals.

2 bedroom apartment - sleeps 4/6 sleeps
- The apartment is on two floors with entrance on the 3rd floor ( no elevator). It consists of a bedroom with a double bed and en-suite bathroom with a shower and toilet. From here there are 17 solid, wide steps up to the upper floor (there is no railing, so you have to rely on the wall), where we find a large living room with a sofa bed (but you should note that access to the bathroom is through one of the bedrooms), open kitchen (four-burner stove, oven, fridge- freezer, kettle, toaster and dishwasher), a double bedroom and en-suite bathroom with bath and toilet. The apartment is equipped with air conditioning, wi-fi and a washing machine. It also has a large roof terrace with a 360 degree views of Rome.
An extended weekend in October med a starting point from "the Terrace" in the centre of Trastevere, it does not get better than that.
We have often used In-Italia's unique knowledge of all parts of Italy, to find the perfect place for us to spend on vacation, and also this time in Rome, where Trastevere is the right place to stay.
Terrazzaccio Renzi is a lovely apartment with an absolutely fantastic roof terrace, which we can thoroughly recommend. Everything was great, both the cleaning and the linen, nice beds and a well-assorted kitchen with a dishwasher, big flat screen TV (but who spends time on TV when you're a tourist in Rome)
We would love to come back.
We were two couples who lived here and want to brag about the apartments location. Well equipped.
Bathroom for each bedroom, and a fantastic roof terrace. When you walk out the door, you're in the middle of the Travestvere, with restaurants and small shops. If we are going back to Rome, there is no doubt about where we are staying :-)
