Apricale is 15 km from the coast and the beaches of Liguria, and not far from the border with France. There are approx. 600 inhabitants in the small town consisting of around 300 families.
The name Apricale comes from the Latin word Apricus, which means facing the sun and describes this sweet and charming town well. It has very distinct artistry and there are many artistic features on the walls around the town as well as at the castle Castello della Lucertola which is often used for artistic and cultural events.

The town is also known for its olive oil made from good taggiasca olives. Here you will find local products such as olive pate, pickled olives, pesto, acacia and chestnut honey.
