Arma di al Mare is a seaside resort, while the original village of al Mare and its historic centre is set back in the countryside and well worth a visit.
Upon arriving here, one quickly senses that Arma di al Mare is an extension of the French Riviera with its palm trees, sea and luxury yachts as far as the eye can see. In summer, the air is full of southern atmosphere with restaurants, sunbathers and happy beachgoers. The western part of the village is particularly charming with its low buildings and cosy squares. It's also easy to get to and from the village since the motorway exit is not far from here.

In addition there is train station which is set back a bit from the village so that it doesn't cut through on the level of the beach as it does in so many places. It is said that the disused railway building is for sale if anyone has the urge to buy it and fix it up to create their dream holiday home! The old disused railway line is now a bike path so that locals and tourists alike can enjoy the beautiful coastline on two wheels. For the youngest there is a lovely play area located on the boardwalk, where there are both a paid and free beach public beach available.
