What to do and see
The villa and the garden are so nice, you may choose to stay by the pool for a week! If however you want to see the sights, then since Villa Altar lies on the border between Tuscany and Liguria you have, quite some choice! It is just 12 km from the medium-sized coastal town of La Spezia and approx. 17 km from the sandy beaches of Lerici. La Spezia trains station is a hub from where you can visit all the towns of the Cinque Terre National Park easily within ten minutes by train. Within 10 km, you can access the highway to reach Lucca, Florence, Genoa, Parma, Bologna and Milan. You will find a grocery store in the small historic town of Bolano approx. 1.5 km away or Ceparano (about 1 km), which is easier to reach as it is located on the way to the highway / La Spezia.

Wonderful outdoor areas
No doubt you will have come here for the wonderful fresh air and weather, so the fact that the garden at the villa is huge, and exotic with both lemon and olive trees to cast cooling shadows on a hot summer day, may interest you. The swimming pool is also large and rectangular, and the pool edge is richly endowed with gazebo and sun loungers where you and completely relax and enjoy your private paradise. There is also a barbeque, a pergola, a patio and a porch. The villa is located next to an ordinary secondary road which is not that busy but there can be some noise from passing traffic at times. There is space to park two cars in the driveway. Please note that there are neighbours living in the same building. A couple with a son reside on the other side of the building, but the only thing they share is the main entrance. At times during the evening, you may be able to hear their voices when they dine on the terrace, but it is in the distance on the other side of the building and moreover, you cannot see each other. You have the villa's garden, terraces, indoor areas and pool exclusively to yourselves.
... and the inside is just as good
The house dates from 1995 and has lots of personality and character, largely because the owners once lived there. The villa is on three levels, of which the bottom two both have access to the garden, as the villa is situated on a sloping terrain. On the middle floor there is the large fireplace, which is the family gathering place, and then there is a fitness room, two bedrooms and a bathroom with a toilet, a shower and a Jacuzzi. From this floor there is direct access to the garden via 2 steps. There is no air conditioning in the villa, but it was said that up here at 200 m a.s.l. there is no need for it. There is Wi-Fi internet connection in the villa. A staircase leads to the upper floor where there are two bedrooms (with the possibility of an extra bed in one - included in price) and two bathrooms with a toilet and shower. Down on the lower floor is a laundry room with a washing machine, a large open equipped kitchen (with an oven, a refrigerator, 4 burner stove, a microwave, etc.), and a bathroom with a toilet and shower.
Annexe to sleep 4 additional people to make a total of 13 people
In a separate entity with its own entrance you will find this 50 m² accommodation for four people, so that the villa extends to sleep 13 people. Here you will find a double bedroom, a bathroom and a living room with a double sofa bed and a kitchenette. In addition there is a furnished terrace. If you do not rent this apartment, then it could be rented to another group. The apartment is located in the same building as the rest of the villa.
