At the end of a busy day exploring, you can return to this very pleasant setting and your apartment with its private terrace. The area's sandy beaches are just around about 6 km so it's all within easy reach.

Scent of medieval times and olives

Ippoturs central part is a restored medieval tower which forms a fine silhouette on the landscape that is dotted with olive and pine trees. The tower houses the reception, bar, breakfast room (if you wish to opt for breakfast) and a covered panoramic terrace. The bar also serves light snacks if you do not wish to cook or drive to the surrounding towns to find an eaterie. Next to the tower is the swimming pool and children's pool in the lush green outdoor area. Wi-Fi is free and can be found in the bar and pool area. It also reaches up to the bungalows but the signal is not as good up there as it is by the pool. The nearest eatery is located approx. 1 km away and is called 'Pizzeria Napoli'. When you are in the outdoor areas in Villaggio Ippotur you are likely to bump into some or all of the five village cats and the one small dog that reside here. Note that the strengths are undoubtedly the low price, the beautiful green surroundings, the swimming pool, children's pool and proximity to the sandy beaches and the Cinque Terre National Park, while the 32 bungalows do appear a bit worn and in need of an upgrade.

Region and Excursions:

The big star of the region is undoubtedly the Cinque Terre National Park and you can visit them all by leaving your car in La Spezia which is 25 km away, and take the train, There is at least 1 train an hour from La Spezia to the other towns in the Le Cinque Terre with short distances between them all. In addition, we recommend you visit the sandy beaches of the area (for example that of Marinella di Sarzana), the medieval town of Castelnuovo Magra (about 3 km), the largest antiques market in Italy - Sarzana (about 7 km) and the irresistible villages of Portovenere, Lerici and Tellaro along the Gulf of La Spezia.

Bungalows suitable for families:

Just behind the medieval tower that sits on the hill, are 32 individual bungalows grouped into three rows in shady sites under the trees. They were built in 1984 and have been updated since. If you arrive by car, you can stop outside your bungalow to unload, and then park in the public car park adjacent to the reception. All bungalows have a furnished terrace. From many of them you can glimpse the sea, while others offer a panoramic view.

Review of Villaggio Ippotur

I have been in Ippotour one week long with my family. We are very pleased for our time there because our apartment was clean, lately renovated, with clima, equipped, with separate terrace. The view was awsame and the Ippotur has really special charm. Main problem was warm water which was no available in the shower each time. The water in pool was cold.
But we are in group or only several customers who had luck to have renovated houses. Only 5 from 32 houses were renovated. The rest has bad standard and customers from all over the Europe were disapointed.
Ippotour is about 7km from the sea cost and there is no shop in the neighborhood ( restaurant at pkace) so you need to often drive a car and the road insite Ippotour is really steep and bumpy and only for good car drivers. There are many of stairs to go if you want to go from pool to your house so it's better to have good condition. Tv is not in all houses.

Poor accomodation

A place with a very good atmosphere but bungalows far below standard, small, dark bathroom with a radiator in the shower, for hot water need to wait few minutes, everything looks like was about to fall apart. The positive is a very friendly service and charming place.
