Hotel Monte Rosa is a centrally located vibrant hotel located in Chiavari old town - a cosy town with characteristic archways, enriched with traditional Ligurian pastel colours. It has a restaurant, bar and a huge sun terrace, and is only 700 metres from both the beach and the marina.
A recent addition (2010) is a pool with Jacuzzi (35 degrees) and delightful garden furniture. At one end of the pool is the shallow children's part of the pool with a water depth of 50 cm (not a separate pool). During the summer months there is often live music around the pool on Friday evenings creating a lively atmosphere. There is no sea view from the hotel as such but it is only around 500 metres to the beach, where you will find two beaches in-fact - a private with sand, and a public beach with pebbles, and also a huge marina. The hotel provides bikes so you can get around on two wheels if you wish. When you step outside the door, a 20 metre walk will take you straight into the old town, where there are street markets every day and a pedestrian arcade with arches and shops.

In addition to the reception, Hotel Monte Rosa has a restaurant, breakfast (buffet) a bar, an elevator, Wi-Fi (extra charge), children's playground and a huge sun terrace for guests free of charge. The hotel also offers cooking classes to their guests. Despite the hotel's very central location, it is actually possible to drive and park here. We recommend that you book parking in the hotel garage for a very affordable supplement otherwise it can sometimes be difficult to find parking elsewhere in Chiavari.
The hotel offers rooms in several different categories, all equipped with air conditioning, TV, safe and bathroom with bath or shower and hairdryer. The deluxe rooms have been recently refurbished.

After being picked up in a first class limousine, we arrived at the hotel, which at the first look seemed a bit anonymous, a bit boring to look at, but all that disappeared immediately when we were received by the staff. We have rarely been treated better than by the locals here.
The whole trip were got a service we have only gotten at 5-stared hotels.
We were very pleased with the food and the waiters, if you can speak a little Italian you quickly start talking, and then there are no limits to the service. we can only give our recommendation to people who haven't been in these parts of the country before. Cinque Terre, (we visited 3 towns), is its own whole chapter it's so beautiful, it's almost indescribable, you have to experience it, maybe next time we should come outside of the tourist period, since there's a lot of people there at the same time as us.
last but not least, we would like to send a lot of love to in-italia for the patience they had finding the perfect vacation for us. it will not be the last time we use in-italia as our first choice.
We are out late with the holiday review which was in July 2016
Kind regards

Monte Rosa has everything was it takes to make it a great stay in Chiavari.
Perfect location, almost in the city center, and with private parking.
Extremely professional and pleasant staff, who speaks perfect English and are very helpful with information.
The rooms was great - properly around the best we tried - super!!
The breakfast is better than what you normally get served in Italy.
The dinner is not something to talk about. The price is very high and not that good and the restaurant is not for us. But there is plenty of other restaurants just outside the door which also are much cheaper. Do not choose the half-board.
What really makes a difference for us is that we did not get our expectations fulfilled. We hoped for a holiday where we got to relax but that just did not happen.
It was almost impossible to get a sunbed at the pool cause there was really not enough so we had to lay at the ground with our towels. We did not wanna get up early and fight with the other guest about sunbeds.
Almost all days we spend there we had to deal with a lot of noise coming from the italian guest who played and splashed with water at the swimmingppool. So we did not get to hang out and relax in the same way we intended.
If the pool and the area around the pool is not important for you, then Monte Rosa will be just great for a holiday in Liguria

We had a lovely stay, where it was peaceful, but at the same time lovely centrally located. We were upgraded to Deluxe rooms upon arrival, which was lovely - can definitely recommend these new pure style rooms. Most of the guests were older, and then a few families with children. If I had to pinpoint something, there could be more of the "good" sunbeds (the ones in the pictures), since they quickly got reserved with towels in the morning :)
Very well maintained and clean hotel, with an excellent service all around.
The hotel's own restaurant servers really good Italian food at reasonable prices. The cleaning staff who made the rooms ready was flexible and friendly. I can't find one single thing to point at - everything was top!!. Breakfast is fresh and included everything desirable in copious amounts.
Wonderful hotel with lovely rooms. Its our 4th time and we enjoy it everytime! Even if its located in the middel of the city, its still quite and comfortable.
Lovely hotel with beautiful facilities. Great that the hotel is located in the middle of the city so you can go for a walk when it is too hot to lie in the sun on the pool's lovely sunbeds. The city is very little touristy and you get the impression that there are few hotels in the city, which is great because you meet Italians everywhere. There are plenty of good restaurants in town where you can get everything the heart desires of delicious Italian dishes.
We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms and wauw it was luxury :-) We were three adult friends departed and there was plenty of room in the room that we all three could be there. The good thing was that the extra bed was a good bed with a proper mattress and no such thing as a "dream-like-something" that is made available in some places.
