The hotel is housed in a former monastery, and therefore has its own small chapel; however, it is not in use these days. The building's original purpose is evident in some places as it has very high ceilings, and one can sense the atmosphere of the monastery in several of the common living areas and hallways.
The hotel has been nicely renovated and nowadays has all the amenities of a modern hotel. The very central location is most convenient, both if you want to visit the beach, go shopping in town, or to take a daytrip by car or train to visit other places of interest in the region. The nearest motorway exit is just approx. 2 km from the hotel, and if you do not wish to arrive by car, the hotel is next door to the train station. NOTE: The station can be seen from the pool area and at times one can also hear the passing trains (however, the trains do not run at night). The hotel has double-glazed windows in all rooms, but there is still some train noise.
The hotel has a large car park, a reception, an internet point, a lift, a bar, a great restaurant, a lounge and reading room, swimming pool with a children's pool and a small play area for smaller children as well as several furnished terraces. There are a total of 42 rooms which are all nicely but simply furnished with a telephone, satellite TV, a safety deposit box and a bathroom with a shower or bathtub, hairdryer and toiletries.
A good hotel with the standard you can expect and a bit more. We thrived here, and the only thing we were missing, was a balcony.
