You will receive a warm welcome from the very friendly host Daniela at Agriturismo Golfo dei Poeti. This wonderfully scenic and rural spot is just around 3 km from the centre of the medium-sized provincial city of La Spezia. You will immediately notice the wonderful fragrance of rosemary when you are on the farm.
You can actually walk to La Spezia from here, and it is around 2 km along a track. However it is very hilly and the return on foot is pretty steep. You will however appreciate that its location high on the hillside means that the view is spectacular. Up at the pool area the panoramic view towards La Spezia town and the entire bay leading out to Portovenere and the Cinque Terre will take your breath away. The pool is located near the five apartments Junior Suite and Major and near the reception, while the other five apartments are located approx. 500 m away (can be reached with the car) - but still on the same grounds. There are two pools on site a large pool with panoramic views and a smaller pool right next to where there is both a waterfall and a jacuzzi . This pool, which has a few steps leading up to it is only approx. 90 cm, so children can safely splash around in the shallow water, but there is not an actual children's pool. At the pool area there is also a toilet, which is very convenient for the apartments located approx. 500 meters away. There is no Wi-Fi in the apartment, but it is available in the reception area.

The No. 1 tour in this area is indisputably the Cinque Terre National Park which you can reach by train from La Spezia train station (3 km). From here there are frequent departures to all five villages of the Cinque Terre (Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso) with a 15 minute train ride. You can go from town to town by train in a few minutes or indeed along the coast by boat. The latter is the more expensive option but the most panoramic. You can even walk if you are feeling energetic by following the many scenic trails that link the towns. (At times some of these routes are closed due to landslides that sometimes occur). Other interesting excursions include the sandy beach in Lerici (about 14 km), picturesque Portovenere (approx. 15 km), the Marble Hills of Tuscany or the art cities of Lucca and Pisa (approx. 80 km).
The nearest pizzeria is only approx. 2km away, but we don't recommend that you go there because the road is very steep. However the agriturismo has an agreement with a restaurant nearby that will cook and deliver meals so that you can sit outside your apartment and dine without having to cook or drive!
The farm section on the site is called Fattorie Bedogni von Berger which is in a corner of its own where the friendly animals live. Here there are chickens, Vietnamese pigs and a herd of goats that are very curious and love to be petted. When the children get tired of petting the goats, then there is also a playground on the farm. There is also a paddock with ponies and five cute dogs on site, but they do not run around freely in the areas where the guests are. In addition to livestock, the farm produces honey, wine, olive oil and vegetables in large quantities. Note: The hives are kept at a safe distance from buildings under Italian law. Once a month, the owners collect the honey and the bees sometimes stray a little further away reaching the pool area.

We enjoyed our stay at Danielles. She is very sweet and kind. We were not so pleased with the kitchen equipment in the apartment. We didn't have so many plans to cook something special, but it would have been nice with some decent knives and a toaster. And there were only like 6 knives, 6 forks and 6 glasses. Not enough.
Beside that, everything was great!
Lovely location with a unique view of La Spezia and the Mediterranean. Very kind and helpful hostess, who makes sure, that the practical stuff is in order. With Cinque Terre as a neighbour, it is fitting to hike between the beautiful and picturesque towns along the Mediterranean. Four stars going up.
Our family trip was very successful. We enjoyed the three apartments locations with good terraces and beautiful views of La Spezia and the ocean. Likewise we enjoyed the area by the two pools, where the view also were amazing.
We were very satisfied with our stay at Agriturismo Golfo dei Peoti. The peace, vegetation and the smells.... a fantastic oasis! We are very grateful, we chose La Spezia as a base in our try to see Cinque Terre, because it is a nice location, in proportion to getting to the different towns with busses and trains.
The hostess was very friendly and had good advice and tips, which she communicated in excellent English.
The only downside is the road going op to the accommodation, which was a bit rustic, and that there weren't any internet in the apartment. Besides that, we are very satisfied!
Lovely destination with a lovely view from bedroom, terrasse and the pool. Really nice service from Daniela that runs the place and is a good base if you want to explore the nearby areas on land and near the coast.
The only downside is the narrow road up to the house. It is not recommended to big familycars. But you'll get used to it :)
