The environment here really is a gift from nature, the view over the La Spezia Gulf is also second to none. Come and see for yourself?
Situated 4 miles from the town of La Spezia and the idyllic fishing village of Portovenere, with outstanding views of the Spezia Gulf and the rocky Ligurian landscape, lies this little slice of heaven. From Le Ville Relais you can also see the colour splashed fishing villages of Lerici and Tellaro on the other side of the gulf of La Spezia. with the marble mountains in the background. It is obvious to see why Le Cinque Terre coast and nature park have been awarded UNESCO status.

The swimming pool alone will take your breath away; the way it merges into the ocean with beautiful flowers and olive trees scattered around creating an inviting ambience, especially when it is lit during the evening. If you are lucky enough during your stay, you will experience one of the spectacular firework displays from below in La Spezia. Please note that bathers are required to wear a swimming cap when using this pool.
Le Ville Relais consists of two typically Ligurian houses from the 1700's (fully restored) in classic Ligurian colours. Great opportunities exist for hiking from here as there are numerous trails, to Portovenere and Campiglio for example - along which trails you can enjoy the most breathtaking views. The hosts at this hotel put a lot of effort into making sure you stay is unforgettable whether you come for relaxation, exploration or other reasons. The location of the hotel is at the end of a cul-de-sac so there is hardly any traffic and therefore lots of peace and quiet. The last few kilometres to the house are along an unlit road through a forest.
It has its own restaurant - Le Ville Relais Ristorante, who's menu is primarily based on typical local cuisine, yet is exciting and genuine. The team here are very proud of their chef, who always manages to add a personal touch to his dishes. You can enjoy many culinary delights here whilst enjoying an exotic panorama of the bay. The prices are particularly reasonable also.
In addition to the pool and restaurant, Le Ville Relais has a sauna that you can use (for an extra charge) and a small gym with treadmills and an exercise bike. We recommend that you hire a car if you come here since public transport does not serve this area despite its proximity to La Spezia.
All rooms have a large balcony with views of the sea and the Gulf of La Spezia (some are clearly more direct than others). The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, with a nice mixture of antique and modern furnishings. They vary in terms of layout and colours. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, satellite TV (flat screen TV in the suite), a mini-bar, a safe, a telephone, Internet connection and a bathroom with shower and jacuzzi (in suites and most Deluxe rooms) or shower and hydro-massage (in deluxe rooms and standard rooms).
Standard and Deluxe rooms can accommodate two people (one of the deluxe rooms can accommodate up to 3 people) and suites allows for an extra bed. Note that standard rooms have queen-size beds (1 ½ people). The suite has a small terrace. Small well-behaved pets are allowed.
We lived there for one week and we will most definitely return. The hotel is a gem with friendly and professional staff. The restaurant is high standard and the dishes are well prepared. It was a pleasure staying there. Can only be recommended. Lived in the suite for 2 people which was probably the bedst room at the hotel. The breakfast was also the best we have had in Italy so far.
For us, it was a fantastic place to have our holiday; lovely rooms in calm surrounding with a beautiful view, where the eye couldn't get sick of the view over the bay with a swimming pool in front. We want to describe the food as gourmet - we ate all meals there, both breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff smiling, friendly and accommodating, and showed a natural service, that made you feel so welcome - in the "cool" way.
We will definitely come again, and hope Valentino will stand ready with his Italian smile.
Only roses, no buts...
For families with smaller children, who want to play ball, etc., would this beautiful and wonderful place probably not be the right choice.
