The hotel is discreetly sheltered by nature's embrace just around 200 metres from the ferry landing, where you can sail to the other towns of the Cinque Terre. The hotel offers a rich range of amenities such as panoramic terraces, a restaurant and rooms with air conditioning, balconies and mesmerizing sea views.

Enjoy Europe's most beautiful views!

There are many reasons why a few years ago The Economist awarded Hotel Porto Roca the title Europe's most beautiful views. The hotel is practically on a rock and looks out over the Mediterranean Sea and the UNESCO-winning Cinque Terre National Park. This absolute trump card is reflected both from the deck chairs on the panoramic sun terraces, a restaurant with panoramic ocean views (both inside and out) and the many rooms with views of the open sea. Despite its seemingly remote location, it is only approx. 200 m to the centre of Monterosso, approx. 1 km to the train station and even less to the sandy beach and the ferry landing. The train cuts through Monterosso's old town, and one can discern its whistling in the distant background, when you are up at the hotel.

Relax by the pool and on the sandy beach

Admire the views of the stunning Cinque Terre from the new pool area, located on a rocky slope between the sky and sea. The location is so panoramic that it was built with materials that had to be delivered by helicopter! Here you can laze all day long and enjoy the salt water pool, sunbeds and jacuzzi - and if you're travelling with your family, the children can splash away in the children's pool. You will find one of the area's few sandy beaches in Monterosso just about. 200 metres from the hotel. There are no stairs on this route and the road is not very steep. In the period between June and September, a parasol and two sun loungers at the Hotel Porto Roca's private beach are included in the price for a double room.

Dine in the panoramic restaurant

You can be sure to dine well at the restaurant on-site La Terrazza del Porto Roca where you can book half-board if you wish. The evening meal usually consists of a very rich and varied buffet with appetizers, mainly seafood but you'll also find other dishes, both Ligurian and national Italian cuisine. The main course is usually served at the table. The service is top notch and the waiters have an eye on everyone even during very busy nights. The restaurant has a great indoor area - and when the weather permits (usually from May to September), dinner can of course be enjoyed on the cosy outdoor terraces, offering both view of the sea and Monterosso's historic centre. Breakfast is also served as a buffet - and can also be taken outdoors when the weather permits.

For arrival and departure

Hotel Porto Roca is an extension of Monterosso's old town, which is car-free (only small local vehicles are authorized to run errands), approx. 1 km from the train station and the car park in the district of Fegina, which you can arrive at by both car and train. On arrival at either the car park or train station in Monterosso town, you can take a taxi to the hotel. This service is also available on departure. This makes it easy and painless to get your luggage up to the hotel - and during your stay you will not need the car, because you will typically use the hiking trails, tourist boats or trains to get to the other towns of the Cinque Terre.

Wellness, antiques and other facilities

Hotel Porto Roca has it all which of course includes a wellness centre. Here you can relax in the small spa or Turkish bath and have the opportunity to book treatments such as massage. The decor of the hotel is greatly influenced by the history and grandeur, as you will find antiques, art work and even armour in the interior. Of course there is also a reception, a bar and a lift in the hotel.

Italian charm

Fine big junior suite with big new bathroom and lovely terrace/balcony with a great view. The hotel was decorated in a old fashioned style - very charming. The staff was in general friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was okay, and the dinner was surprisingly good and well made, big portions.

Very lovely hotel of the highest class with a fantastic placement

Hotel Porto Roca has everything you need to make a holiday unforgettable. The location is unrivalled and the view likewise. High service and exquisite kindness from all the employees, the room is very lovely and clean and the whole hotel area, including the pool-area and pool, are idyllic and exquisite. Breakfast is maybe something to better, maybe suits Italians taste better - but the view from the restaurant suppresses this little minus.
