We spent an amazing week at Residence Le Terrazze. Even though our room was VERY SMALL - which might have been our own fault, as we did not quite understand the room descriptions correctly - it was still a nice week. Amazing view over the water and we could see the town as well. It takes about 15 min. to walk along the water to the town of Portovenere. Good restaurants both in town and on the way. We recommend you go on the sailing trip to Cinque Terre; it is a fantastic experience. Good service at the hotel, the breakfast was ok (typical Italian: Sweets, etc.).

We have travelled with In-Italia before, and prior to the booking we have always had a nice dialogue on our wishes and priorities. That ensures the perfect settings for our vacation.
Le Terazze is towards the west, so there's a lovely shade at breakfast and dinner, and all the sun we could need during the day. The view is wonderful and varying from local fishermen to yachts for millions. There's a public pebbles beach close to the place, as well as access to a private beach (with 3 wooden piers) through a pool area nearby.
Garbage is collected every day, and linen were changed several times, even though they said, they only do it once a week.
La Terazze is recommendable both for couples and families with children of all ages.
Porto Venere is a well-preserved medieval town with small charming twisty streets, which has evolved into a beach town for both travellers and the locals. Even though you meet many different nationalities, the town is still dominated by Italians.
There's about 15 minutes of walking (or a free bus) into town, where there's a small supermarket, ATM and several specialty shops as well as a baker. There's good opportunities for snorkelling behind the castle.
Liguria is a mountainous area, and parking CAN be difficult. There's busses going to La Spezia, where you can take the train, and with the many boats around the area, there's an opportunity to leave the car, or arriving by plane/train/bus.
It can be recommended to go on trips with a boat from Porto Venere. Visit Lerici on the other side of the bay, or take a trip around the 3 islands opposite the town. You get sailed close to the caves, and if you're lucky, you get to see dolphins. Train and boat can be used to visit the 5 towns in "Cinque Terre", which is one of the best hiking areas in the world, there's both easy and more demanding hikes. One of the easier 2 hour trips on the "beach island" La Palmaria opposite Porto Venere, is also recommendable, snorkelling here is also better than on the mainland.
July 23-24-25th there's a medieval town fair in Levanto with parade, and fireworks - check with the locals!

After a week in Tuscany we visited for the first, but not the last, time Le Terrazze. We stayed in a one-room apartment with a big terrace, from where there were the most fantastic view of the ocean. There were a lovey activity on the water from morning until evening. - right from locals, who collected clams, to bridal couples, who came sailing by or cruise ships , which was anchored.
Le Terrazze is a 10 minute walk from shopping, and around 15 minutes of walking from the town.

Our stay lived completely up to our expectations. Both regarding the place, the lovely view, the apartment with the big terrace, the pool, the beach as well as the town nearby.
The staff was very friendly as well as accommodating.
A lovely vacation spot.
Boosted - weren't as expected, and it wasn't possibles to walk the routes we planned, since one of them was closed and hadn't been restored.

Commercial reception without warmth, we were directly annexed over the restaurant with a minimum of information about the hotel.
The room did not meet our expectations. The decorations weren't heartening, and the window was too small and sat too high up. The fridge made too much noise, and there was noise from outside from garbage trucks and workmen at 6 in the morning. There was 2 weddings during our stay, one Friday and one Saturday, with noise long into the night, and we weren't informed of this by the hotel.
The therefore shortened our stay with 2 nights, and there wasn't asked why. We were just told, that we had to pay for the 7 nights, we had ordered. The annex, where we lived, barely deserves 2 stars. The bar was always closed, and there was no internet connection in the room. All in all an expensive and disappointing holiday.
