Rapallo is an older city with a fine historic centre. Here you will find cosy cafes, restaurants and shops. The seafront with its many palm trees is beautiful and from there you have wonderful views of the coast. There is a small castle at the end of beach dating from the 1500's, where among other things, art exhibitions are held.
There is also a cable car that goes from the centre up to the cemetery "Santuario di Montellegro" dating from the 1500's, which also has an associated Church that currently houses a Byzantine icon claiming to have positive forces.
