However, Sanremo is best known for hosting Italy’s national music festival, Il festival della canzone italiana. Sanremo also has a thriving economy built mainly on mass tourism and offers it's visitors various shows and entertainment all year round. It is also a great place for cycling as there is a long path running along the beach which connects Sanremo with it's neighbouring towns and cities.
