The contrast is great, as you're staying the countryside and yet Sarzana is just 2.5 km away. The next Focacceria is about 1 km away. And the beach of Fiumaretta is about 7 km down the road. You are close to the Riviera at the same time as you are just on the border of Tuscany and it's many interesting medieval towns and rolling green landscapes.
Visit Le Cinque Terre
Drive to La Spezia station (about 20 km) and jump on the train which departs several times a day to Le Cinque Terre. The first village you'll reach is Riomaggiore, and the train ride only takes about 6 minutes. Or drive to beautiful Lerici (about 10 km) and take a boat over to Le Cinque Terre and it's many guided hiking trails.
Welcome to Antico Casale!
Antico Casale (translated as "ancient hamlet") is located in a landscaped park, surrounded by arable land. On the horizon you can see the the border between Liguria and Piedmont with the Ligurian Apennine Mountains in the distance. Upon your arrival you will be welcomed by the majestic cypress driveway. Before you arrive at the Casale you can park your car at a parking lot on your right. The neighboring forest ensures a quiet tranquility on the ground, only disturbed by the hum of passing trains about 200 meters away. You will notice the sounds, however our representative found the noise to be at an acceptable level for a good quality holiday. In the yellow building near the parking area, there is a reception, a breakfast room and some of the apartments.
Take a dip in the pool
The swimming pool (6 x 15 m) is located at the back of the park and you will also find many of the apartments here. The pool is fenced and has a children's pool, as well as a hydro-massage function. Around the inviting pool you'll find the terrace with sun loungers and parasols. An let's not forget the toilet, dressing room, two showers and vending machines with coffee and snacks for between meals.
Other family friendly facilities
At one end of the park-like gardens the owners have set up a playground for the children, next to the barbecue and picnic area. The restaurant (only for guests staying on site) is closer to the pool area, and there will be the occasional wedding here, especially during the summer. However, the music is turned off around midnight. In some cases it might be a bit earlier or later than that. When you don't feel like cooking you'll be happy to know the restaurant offers good meals and the nearest restaurant is only 5 minutes away by car in Sarzana if you prefer a bit of a change one night.
Stay in cosy and comfortable apartments
This former agricultural property was completely renovated and now has 13 cosy apartments and their warm interior really allows you to feel at home. The apartments are located in two different buildings; some in the yellow building, which also accommodates the reception and breakfast room (breakfast is served outside in the summer), and some in a building near the pool. For those who are staying by the pool there is a separate parking area nearer the building. Most apartments have access to a furnished outdoor area, and even though they're technically communal the unspoken rule is to only use the area/garden/terrace attached to your apartment. The four apartments who do not have an outdoor area can utilize the communal pavillions, and three of the four apartments even have a communal patio on the first floor. Even though there are kitchen facilities in the apartments (no oven) you will find that a breakfast buffet is included. Laundry facilities are about 1.5 kilometers away. Note. The apartments are from 2-4 people and you get the number of beds you book and pay for. So if you book for 2 people there are 2 beds waiting for you. Extra beds can be in sofa bed.
