If you are looking for an authentic but uncrowded place, then this is a good choice. B & B Da Carla has three splendid and well-appointed rooms above their trattoria.

In the hills behind Sestri Levante

B & B Da Carla is approx. 3km from the beautiful and evocative seaside town of Sestri Levante, which offers both sandy coves and a HC Andersen Festival (usually in May). The place is located in the small community of San Bernardo, which only has a few houses, a pink church in the Ligurian Baroque style and there own Trattoria Carla. The area offers great hiking opportunities and there is path which takes you from the B & B to the village of San Bernardo amongst many others in the area.

Dine on spot

The small restuarant is mainly open to the overnight staying guests - which is why you are kindly asked to agree withs the hosts if you would like to dine the following evening. Typical examples of the kitchen's dishes include ravioli with meat, pansotti (a kind of giant ravioli) and rabbit. The owners also produce olive oil from their own olive groves and of course use it for cooking. There is a half-board option or the a la carte menu and prices are very reasonable. The trattoria's style is traditional and basic whilst maintaining a higher level of layout. The breakfast buffet is served at the Trattoria either inside or outside.

Other features

There is free parking on site in the partial shade under the pergola. There is a reception inside the restaurant where you check-in upon arrival. There is no fridge inside the rooms, but in the hall there is a fridge at the guests' disposal.

Peace and quiet in twosomeness, two steps from the ocean and very close to nice attractions

The place, outside the centre of Sestri Levante, is very peaceful, the rooms are impeccable and comfortable, the breakfast buffet is luxurious.

You cannot do without a car.

Too bad, there isn't a restaurant here.

We had troubles getting practical advise and information (shops, maps of the town), especially due to the language.

Peaceful B&B

Very peaceful B&B up narrow roads.
There's only a church, which rings every half hour, however not at night.
Rooms, hostess, and internet is very nice. The restaurant is closed, so you have to drive up narrow dark roads fro the town, after you've eaten.

A fantastic place to see Cinque Terre

It is a fantastic place if you want a room towards the mountains with a balcony, Dell`Olio. During Autumn the two other rooms are OK as well, but we were there in August in 38 degrees heat, so it is nice to have a room turned against north/east along with a balcony, where you can relax late on the afternoon, when you have returned after dinner.

A very positive and special experience

We felt particularly welcome due to the family atmosphere at Carla's B&B! Very welcoming place in the mountains where the elderly in the family made food while the younger served. Saturday evening, the place was stuffed with local residents from the other mountain villages. One should like the old-fashioned Italian local food. The room (there are 3 in total) is completely in the top, cozy and newer. The church bell, hanegal, cicadas and magnificent views are the "only" entertainment on the spot in addition to the pleasant talk of the guests and the hosts. 2-3 nights is a perfect escape from the world's noise in the major seaside resorts. Nice morning table that was enjoyed on the terrace. The place can be clearly recommended!

Friendly place

Very friendly and helpful service from the place's leader. Beautiful location. Fine rooms and a lovely balcony, BUT it would've been better, if you had a fridge or access to one, so you could bring cold water with you on day trips
