You will fin the beach is just 20 metres away on the other side of the street in the scenic Baia delle Favole, and the town is a short 150 metre walk away. The train station is just 500 metres away so it's easy enough to arrive by train then you don't have to worry about parking.
The hotel has a total of 68 neat and well-appointed rooms, elegant common areas and facilities such as a bar, an elevator, a gazebo and a swimming pool with a panoramic terrace on the rooftop on the 5th floor. We were 3 Norse couples who travelled down to experience hiking Cinque Terre. With base in Sestri Levante we had a good basis for the trips with train. Since it wasn't everyone who was with us on the routes between the 5 towns, it was good to live in such a fittingly big town as Sestri Levante, so there was other ways to use your time. The beach lies just across from the hotel and we greatly appreciated that, we could take a morning swim before breakfast. A whole day on the beach with a parasol and two loungers costed 25 euros and half a day costed 15 euros. We had one of the Luxe rooms with ocean view from the side. The rooms were OK with good cleaning and good bathrooms size. The mini bar at the room was good for having bought drinks. Breakfast was good with a lot of fruit. Fried eggs and bacon was temporarily not on the menu. The Wifi quality was poor. Overall we appreciated the stay at Hotel Grande Albergo- We haveused In-Italia multiple times and have always experience top service.
We had some lovely days in Sestri Levante at Hotel Grande Albergo. Lovely hotel, very central compared to the town and beach. We had several good food experiences in town. Can recommend restaurant Verve by the beach promenade and restaurant Castelli up in the heights. During our stay we also had a trip to Portofino. Take the train to St. Margherita and onwards from there with boat. We went back on our own, since there were too many waves!
Portofine is beautiful! As we have been before, we are very satisfied with In-Italia. It was also them who recommend Sestri Levante to us combined with wonderful Stresa! Kind regards Heidi and Per Bharne from Frederikstad.
