Lovely view of Lake Garda and Limone, unfortunately no air conditioning

Hotel La Limonaia has a good location. Only 1½ km. to Limone. There's a fantastic lovely view of Lake Garda, especially to Monte Balso, Malcesine and Limone. Beautiful to sit out on the terrace in the evening and watch the lights in the towns along the lake. There's also a beautiful view from the dining hall, as well as when you're in the pool area. The area with pool and sunbeds is a bit small in proportion to the many hotel guests. Difficult to get a sunbed in the afternoon. The food isn't of the highest standard, the bread was a bit stale every day, but it will do for a week. The room were quite worn. The mattresses is completely round and deep in the middle, and the bed was squeaking a lot. There were 30-31 degrees in the room, day and night, despite the fact that, their so-called air conditioning was on. There were 33 degrees outside in the day. After 8 nights in the sultry heat, we really longed to get on with our vacation. The parking conditions was completely unacceptable. The road going up is very steep (10-15 %), and at the same time, the road is very narrow and with very sharp turns. Simultaneous, there's parked cars absolutely everywhere, where there's just a little bit of room to put a car. Had to back three times to get down and around through a hairpin bend, and there were max. 5 cm. from both side-view mirrors in both sides and to the other cars. Didn't go out on excursions, since it would be completely hopeless to find a parking spot, when you returned at 16-17 o'clock. Because of missing air conditioning, and thereby extremely poor sleep, as well as the poor parking conditions, we will definitely choose another place next time.

Lake Garda as a holiday destination

Would like to recommend a trip to the beautiful Lago di Tenno. It is only 10-12 km north west of Riva del Garda. There's very good parking conditions. When the sun shines, the lake is completely emerald green, and at the same time it is located beautifully between the mountains. There's a very easy and wide hiking path around the lake. The walk is a little over an hour long. There're many who bathe at the lake - however remember bathing shoes, since there's rocks. There are several opportunities for buying food or bring your own picnic basket. Really lovely and beautiful place. You should also visit the lovely little medieval town Canale di Tenno. It's a 20 min. walk on a good hiking path from Lake Tenno. There are many exciting old stone buildings from the 16th century, and some small wonderful streets/alleys. The road from there and towards Riva del Garda has many very beautiful views.
