You can reach the centre of Limone on foot from here via a small road which is floodlit at night. It receives minimal use during the daytime, usually from hikers and visitors to a few other hotels in the area. It is generally a quiet and scenic area surrounded by olive groves but there are some passing cars coming and going to this hotel and the others on the road.

The Gerardi family transformed an old farm building into a hotel a few years ago, and they have done everything necessary to make it as comfortable and welcoming as possible. Emphasis was placed on the detail and quality of materials, while retaining much of the original rustic style.

The hotel is very family and child friendly and also they have a friendly dog who is likely to be the first member of the family you meet. He sits on the doormat at the front door and watches the passers by. He is very relaxed and child friendly.
Of course you can swim in the lake, but if you prefer the pool, then you have free use of the swimming pool at the Hotel Villa Romantica, located on the same road as Locanda Ruscello. Otherwise, here you will find a cosy breakfast room with wicker furniture which also serves as a living room and a library, a terrace with tables and chairs and loungers, a small reception and parking under the olive trees.
Locanda Ruscello has a total of 13 rooms that are all beautifully decorated, and most rooms have balconies with a full or partial lake view. The two standard rooms, located on the ground floor have French balconies and views of the mountains on the opposite side of the lake. In return, they are adapted for wheelchair users. Two of the junior suites are located in the gable, and thus have no direct lake views. All rooms have a bathroom with a shower, hairdryer, telephone, satellite TV, safety deposit box and tea.

The hotels surroundings are beautiful and the view from the balcony and the terrace are gorgeous! The staff were both helpful, pleasant and spoke very good English and German. Lovely family hotel, where the suite was spacious, nice tiles, good bathroom. Breakfast was good, but the coffee machine and the pre-cooked coffee are things they could work on. The bathing opportunities are great - you use the neighbor hotel's pool area or the nice bathing beach (a little rocky when you step into the water ...).
