Puegnago is one of the many small towns located on Lake Garda, just south of Salo and on the road to Desenzano. The town has the same name as the municipality, consisting of 6 smaller "fractions" called "in locality" in Italian. These states are Raffa, Mura, Palude, Monteacuto, Castello and S. Quirico.
The towns are all located amidst the soft rolling green hills, also referred to as Colline Moreniche which form the agricultural area where the grapevines, olives and corn grow. You can find some very good local restaurants in the many nice villages scattered around the hills. Several of these towns have a rich history dating back to the middle ages, and many of them have their own private castle with turrets, which you can explore.
