An old vicarage, which can be traced back to the 9th century. It has been renovated and converted into a holiday town offering a holiday in an area that specializes in the valuable white truffle production. Next door there is a church with regular services, and together they make a rural picture typical for the area around Marche.

The complex is situated up a mountain side towards Mount Paganuccio. This is a Nature Reserve between the Apennines and the Adriatic coast, and very close to the Gola del Furlo gorge and the 1000 year old St. Vincent monastery. Here visitors can admire the archaeological finds from the old Via Flaminia. The fantastic mountain formations, which are reflected in the man made lake, are a favourite spot for nesting golden eagles, who soar in the sky above the Nature Reserve visitors. From the farm ancient paths lead out and wind their way through woods and meadows up to Mount Paganuccia, from where there is a most spectacular panoramic view.

San Silvestro consists of a large kitchen, spacious living room with fire place, five double bedrooms and two bathrooms with showers in the corridor. It is ideal for families and small groups. The house is surrounded by gardens and a terrace for when you have time to relax. Inside there is a big room with fireplace and a practical farm kitchen overlooking the garden. It is ideal for small groups, who want to spend a weekend in the country to re-charge their batteries. This lovely place is furnished throughout in a very homely style creating the perfect atmosphere for a relaxed holiday.

Signor Belli also owns a farm with more than 100 hectares of woodland and agricultural land. The farm grows and sells typical local produce including vegetables and wine made from own grapes gathered in the well tended vineyard. Delicious truffles are also for sale, or you can even go looking for them yourself in the man made truffle farms above ground. During the autumn we would suggest you go exploring this mystical truffle world with the owner and his well trained dogs. It is quite an experience to be in direct contact with nature in an area, where the experts are still numbered among the best in the world. In the surrounding area there are plenty of small farms where old shepherds produce delicious cheeses using traditional methods.

S. Silvestro is situated in the old dukedom of Urbino with plenty of opportunity for excursions within the area: Urbino, Gubbio and other lesser known towns including Cagli, Mondavio, Fossombrone, and the Frontone castle. For those who enjoy mountain biking we would suggest a pleasant trip to the small charming villages in the surrounding hills. We would recommend a trip to Tarugo, Montescatto and the small delightful La Torricella, where the walls from the old fort are still standing. An area down in the valley has become known for its famous bronze statues by Cartoceto, which were first found in 1950.
