It is just 40 km from the Adriatic Sea's beautiful beaches and 15 km from the breathtaking caves Grotte di Frasassi. From up here at 400 m.a.s.l. you have the most spectacular views from the medieval town.
You can wander around the well-kept car-free centre with many panoramic terraces filled with flowers. The town's church (San Lorenzo) is worth a visit. On the small square space outside the town's walls you will find a grocery store and a post office. Mergo is about 3 km from the main road SS76, which connects Ancona with Rome, so it is easy to stop off here.
