Porto Recanati is a cosy port town on the Adriatic coast. It has a charming main street with a nice selection of shops and restaurants. The beach is very nice and consists of coarse but pleasant sand and pebbles.
There is also a pleasant promenade with a further selection of restaurants, pizzerias, cafes and pretty old houses.
Recanati is an excellent starting point for excursions to the area's picturesque, historic towns such as Recanati city, Loreto, Osimo and especially the University town of Macerata. If you are a nature lover, a trip to the part of the Apennines called Monti Sibillini is highly recommended.
