Scuola Italia is located in the centre of Urbania, a few metres from the main street and the town's main square. The language school was established by 3 young Italian teachers in 1999. They are all trained in teaching the Italian language to Italian children as well as to foreigners, and needless to say they also speak other languages, including English, German and French.
Scuola Italia runs courses all year round.
The students sit a test and are divided into groups according to their level (4 levels in total). This ensures that everybody gets maximum benefit from the teaching. The test is always held on a Monday. All courses consist of 30 hours of teaching, covering conversation, reading of literary texts, and understanding of spoken Italian, phonetic exercises and grammar.
Scuola Italia also arranges excursions and guided tours in the area, including visits to Urbino, Assisi, and Gubbio. Walks and mountain bike tours are also arranged in this wonderful area. In Urbania there is a swimming pool, tennis and boccia courts, as well as charming restaurants and cafés.
With In-Italia you can sign up for a course and book accommodation, either in an apartment in the centre of town or on a farm in a rural setting – some places even have a swimming pool on site.
Roberto manages the school's secretariat and makes sure that everything is ready when the students arrive, which is always on a Sunday, and that they are taken to their rooms or apartments. The students' hosts speak only Italian, so with the exception of the lessons at school, the students will experience total immersion into the Italian language, and have to cope with the Italian way of life on a daily basis.
