Asti, is actually famous for its sweet white sparkling wines (Barbera) Asti is located in one of the leading wine regions. The town is quiet and very cosy with its medieval towers and churches.

The area around Asti is known for its grape varieties Barbera, Dolcetto, Freisa, Grignolino, Malvasia and Moscato. They produce fruity wines and sparkling wines Asti Spumante or Moscato d'Asti.
The medieval town of Asti offers a very charming and picturesque old center, full of towers, churches and monuments. There are around 75,000 inhabitants and the main street is the Corso Vittorio Alfieri.

There are many attractions such as the Gothic cathedral from the 14th century with the Romanesque bell tower from the 13th century with a crypt from the 8th century. The city towers from the 13th century and the Palazzo Alfieri, the birthplace of Vittorio Alfieri.
