The Assandri family runs the hotel and restaurant La Cascata and has done for the last 40 years. They have even built a large part of it. The head of the family is a carpenter, and he has laid wonderful floors made from local chestnut, oak and acacia. In some places they are arranged in a kind of rustic mosaic.
To an Italian, the hotel name gives away its position. "Cascata" means waterfall in Italian, and the hotel does indeed enjoy an amazing view of the river Erro, which forms a waterfall close by. Above and below the fall great pools of water are very popular for bathing in the summer. But if you don't want to swim in the river every day, the Ligurian beach is only 35 km away.
The rooms are pleasantly decorated and all have beautiful bathrooms/toilet, mini bar, TV and terrace overlooking the river and waterfall.
The restaurant is popular with the locals who often do a detour in order to eat here. The food is wonderful, the wine is good, and the prices are definitely reasonable!
