Stay amidst the vineyards
Agriturismo Mongalletto is a fine setting on the edge of town and country - surrounded by vineyards, yet it is only about 1 km up to the historic village of Castellinaldo. Other than hearing the odd country tractor, you are only likely to hear the sounds of nature here. You can reach town on foot by following a pathway so you avoid the road if you wish. In addition to the vineyards, nearby you'll probably pass one of Ferrero's Nutella warehouses. On site there is both parking and a garage available on request.
Satisfy your palate
Let's start with breakfast; you start the day with the breakfast buffet which includes many delicious and fresh sweet items. Weather permitting, you can enjoy this on the terrace with views. The restaurant kitchen is open for lunch on demand, if agreed in advance and can prepare light lunches. Otherwise the restaurant is a great place for dinner and is popular with both guests and outsiders with seating on two floors inside and outside. You can choose to eat a la carte or half board, which, however, requires min. two consecutive nights in the restaurant. Half-board includes an antipasto, a starter or main course and finally a dessert (a total of three dishes). If you want an alternative to the on-site restaurant, there is an eatery Osteria delle Aie about 600 metres from here on the way up towards the village.
Get a taste for it all
The term 'agriturismo' indicates generally that there is some form of local production. Agriturismo Mongalletto owns all the surrounding vineyards, but they rented out to others. This means that the production facility is elsewhere, but you may naturally enjoy their wine in the restaurant and buy to take home with you. Finally, wine tasting sessions and cooking courses are also available here.
Relax at the pool
From the large pool you have a nice view of the surrounding vineyards and Castellinaldo. The pool is beautiful set in the middle of it all and there is also an outdoor shower, deck chairs, umbrellas, changing rooms and a toilet. It just makes the holidays much easier.
The rooms at Agriturismo Mongalletto
The 9 rooms on site are all elegant and tastefully decorated. Most are located on the 1st floor and are differently decorated with warm colours and some antique items. They all have landscape views to varying degrees and also have air conditioning, Wi-Fi, LCD satellite TV, minibar, a safety deposit box, a desk + chair and a bathroom with a toilet, hairdryer and shower. Some rooms have a French balcony, as you can just step out of 3 of the rooms and they are large enough to accommodate an extra bed. There are no rooms for four people.
