Castiglione Tinella is a small community with around 900 inhabitants in a region famous for its wine - the Dolcetto d'Alba with DOC status in particular. The interesting cities of Asti and Alba are just around 20km from Alba. This beautiful historic town is located on a hilltop at 400 m above sea level among rolling vineyards. The vines in this area are so ubiquitous that Castiglione Tinella is relatively one of Italy's most prolific wine-producing municipalities. Here, for example is where Moscato d'Asti and Asti Spumante are produced. This area is obviously known for food and wine in general. There is a small mini market in the village of Castiglione Tinella which is open every day except for Monday - and also closed during the siesta. There is a slightly larger supermarket in Santo Stefano Belbo.
