Casale Mattei is an early character 18th Century house located in the centre of the small quiet town of Corneliano d'Alba, just 6 km from Alba city. Back then it was originally a farm on the outskirts of the town, but today the town has become somewhat bigger, and where there were once fields and animals, there are now neighbours. The old courtyard remains, and it functions today as garden.
A warm atmosphere
The young and energetic Daniela lives here and she has chosen to organise parts of the old farmhouse to provide lodgings for visitors to this area who wish to sample the region's wines and cuisine. Within walking distance from the house are two very good and well renowned restaurants.

Breakfast in the old stables
Breakfast is served in the old barn on the ground floor which has been restored. When the weather permits, it is also possible to sit outside and find a shady or sunny place to relax in the cosy garden. The place appears very neat and well maintained with a character old-fashioned style. The rooms all have balconies, but you can also sit on the stair landing in front of the rooms on the first floor or down in the enclosed garden. The place is especially recommended for adults who want to explore the picturesque Langhe region and who want a bit of comfort at a reasonable price.
Standard Room with breakfast - Here are four well-appointed and comfortable rooms with a television, internet socket and a private bathroom with a toilet, shower and hair dryer. The rooms are located on the corner of the building and sometimes a bit of traffic noise can be heard from the small road which runs past the site.
Suite Bianca with breakfast - Suite room Bianca is located on the ground floor and is basically a small apartment. It consists of a kitchen with a small refrigerator and access to garden, a double bedroom with access to the garden, bathroom with toilet, shower and hairdryer.
Suite Celeste with breakfast - Suite room Celeste is located on the first floor and is a great apartment that can sleep up to three people. It consists of a kitchen with a fridge and a balcony, a bedroom with a four poster bed and one extra bed and a fireplace and access to a balcony and bathroom with toilet, shower and hairdryer. On the balcony there is room for chairs but not for a table.
