One of the most famous structures in Gavi is "Forte di Gavi", located on a hill towering over Lemmedalen "Valle del Lemme". Gavi has long been very popular and almost colonized by people from Liguria, which explains the many buildings' colourful appearance in Ligurian pastel shades with painted borders and embellishments.
There are many different opportunities for activities such as trekking, mountain biking, horse riding and much more. Gavi is also known for its excelled white wines, which you can sample at the various wineries in the area. The nearest major cities are Novi Ligure (about 10 km), Alessandria (about 35 km) and Acqui Terme (about 35 km). Also, the nearby Serravalle Designer Outlets (approx. 4 km) is a great place to shop if you like Italian designer brands.
