Here you will find a few eating places (eg Trattoria La Canfora at Hotel Verbania or Ristorante O 'sole mio) and a small selection of essential shops, such as a post office, a pharmacy and a bank. Verbania is a nice little town with a ferry berth, a small harbour and a lakeside promenade, but can be a bit disturbed somewhat by the busy coastal road that passes through. In the nearby larger town of Verbania, shopping possibilities are considerably larger.
The town is a good starting point for excursions in the mountains, and the area also offers great opportunities for cycling. In the town of Premeno 13 km away is a 9-hole golf course Pian di Sole. The main attraction in the town is Sacro Monte of Verbania, which is a holy place situated 360 metres above sea level, with its dominant position has a great view of the lake. Sacro Monte was in 2003 on the UNESCO list of sites worthy of preservation.
