We (family of 2 adults and a baby of 7 months) began our 3-weeks stay in Italy with a week at the beautiful country home Residence Bricco Torricella in the middle of the Langhe wine district. The hostess Bruna and her husband are incredibly nice and friendly and they take good care of the place and their guests. The place is located with a beautiful view and wonderful calm, just a few kilometers from the town Monforte d'Alba. The place has few apartments, which gives an intimate sensation, exactly what we wanted. Despite the location in the country you have a short walking distance to the restaurant Agriturismo La Torricella, where we had a nice dinner out on their terrace one evening. The place also produces wines and we bought their Barolo with us home - for a vary good price!
Lovely town among the vineyards. Big selection of great restaurants even though the town is small. Visit Ristorante Da Felicin which is really authentic. High quality gourmet restaurant that takes the local kitchen into account. The market in the town is also nice, not big, but folksy. We bought among other things local ingredients with us home, which we cooked in our apartment. The starting point for trips is also absolutely perfect. Don't miss a visit to Barolo, which is lovely, La Morra is also worth a visit and Alba is a must.
