You can even reach the centre of Orta San Giulio on foot (around 1 km) or take the hotel's free shuttle bus which will also take you to the town centre and their very own Restaurant Olina in the centre.
The hotel is furnished with modern furnishings and a sense of extravagance and creativity can be found in the many details. The rooms are large and bright - and all have some special features which add much character and a sense of individuality. In addition to the hall with a reception, guests will find a lounge with a LCD TV and access to the garden. One of the hotel's special features is their Punto Snack which is a room where snacks are available from 3pm for new arrivals and guests and includes drinks, cookies, mini pizzas and other delicacies which go down a treat in the gap between lunch and dinner. It certainly makes one feel welcome upon arrival after a long trip. In addition, the morning meal is a very good experience: the breakfast buffet is very extensive and tasty. The supply of fruit, yogurt, bread, cold cuts and much more is significant and well-stocked. For other meals, we should mention that guests are entitled to a 10% discount on the menu at the hotel's restaurant Olina in the centre of Orta San Giulio. It is approx. 1000 m to the restaurant, and a free shuttle runs between the hotel and the restaurant if you do not feel like walking.
The hotel has a wonderful screened garden with lots of potted flowers and garden furniture which makes a relaxing place to sit. The hotel also has some mountain bikes which are available for guests to hire (for a fee), and there is a laundry service (also for a fee). Approx. 700 metres from the hotel (on the way down to the centre of Orta San Giulio) guests have access to a private lake-beach (green lawn on the lake shore), where there are sun loungers and panoramic and calming views of Lake Orta. There is also a bridge.

We stayed at a nice hotel, but the stay were marked by the fact that we were outside of the season. In your description, it says that there were shuttle busses to the city in the day and evening, but at the hotel they knew nothing of the sort. It also said that there were snacks, etc. in the afternoon. There was dry cake, black coffee made in a coffee maker from the breakfast and cold water for tea.
The staff was friendly, but it was also clear that they were about close down for the winter.
It was really too bad, that the summer's description of Hotel Santa Catarina hadn't been changed, because it didn't live up to our expectations.
Even though the area and the town is fantastic, beautiful and nice, then we would probably have picked a different hotel closer to the lake and city, if we had known what we do know.
