Since the late 19th century Stresa has been famous for its picturesque scenery and charming atmosphere. The town is just opposite the Borromeo islands in the middle of Lake Maggiore’s west coast.
The town has some wonderful and stunning villas. We particularly recommend a visit to Villa Pallavicino and its park with a zoo, as well as Villa Ducale. By driving 30 minutes from Stresa along the road called via Borromea you reach the top of Mount Mottarone with spectacular views over 7 lakes.

The city is also famous for its annual returning classical music festival which is being held both spring and summer. Here you have the possibility of hearing classical concerts in the old villas, churches and on the promenade in Stresa.
