This authentic farm holds an impressive position on a hill from where you will be delighted with the views. It is a wonderful location for nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful and scenic holiday. It is positioned in the triangle between the Langhe region towns of Alba, Asti and Acqui Terme.
The area is little known by European tourists, including the Italians themselves. Consequently the Asti province is surprisingly unspoilt and beckons to be explored. There is a road next to the farm but it is lightly used and therefore is not noisy.

The Collina San Michele farm is perched on a hilltop 350 metres above sea level and the views from its terrace are fabulous. On clear days you can see up to 30 km across the surrounding hills and valleys with their countless vineyards and many small towns. Eating on the covered terrace whilst taking in all this beauty makes the trip worthwhile. The views are the same from the 7 x 13 m swimming pool.
The farm has 11 bedrooms, six of which are in the main building and the rest are in a new building around 30 - 40 metres away. Four bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms in the main building are on the first floor. They are spacious and attractively furnished either with antique furniture or with old-style new pieces. All four bedrooms have air conditioning and balcony. The two bedrooms in the main building which share a bathroom in the corridor are somewhat smaller and have no TV, air conditioning or balcony. Please note that the extra beds that can be provided are not of the best quality and are therefore best suited for children. In the new building all the bedrooms have air conditioning and some of them also have terrace or balcony.
Collina San Michelle is not a one-man operation but the impression seems that way because Fabrizio is everywhere, from the kitchen to the reception and places in between. Some guests interpret him as being intoxicated, because of his staggered gait but in-fact he had a serious car accident some years ago which damaged his balance. Opinion is divided as to whether his behaviour is charming and jovial, or annoying and intrusive, but we can say for sure that he is charismatic and it adds an interesting twist on a stay at Collina San Michele.
Note that the farm is sometimes visited by guests from the area that eat in the restaurant and make use of the pool.
These four double rooms are located on the 1st floor of the main building and all have a balcony with panoramic views, air conditioning, TV and a private bathroom. An extra bed is available (for an additional fee).
This room is located on the ground floor of the new building and is equipped with air conditioning, TV and private bathroom. It is not possible to add an extra bed.
The Grand Suite is located on the ground floor of the new building and consists of a living room with a kitchenette and two single beds for children under 12 years (can be used for an extra payment), a bedroom, bathroom, large terrace with table and chairs . Air conditioning and a TV are available.
The Senior Suite is located on the ground floor of the new building and consists of a living room with a kitchenette, two bedrooms, bathroom and a balcony with panoramic views. They include air conditioning and TV. In each bedroom it is possible (for an additional fee) to add an extra bed.
Collina San Michele is a fantastic place, where you are really able to enjoy the view - quiet and peaceful - they serve a lovely breakfast which you have with view towards the vine fields and with the mountains in the background.
The staff are great and will do everything to please you. Like most places they are not that good with their English skills - but they try and that's fine enough!
We felt really good in San Michele. We would like to return.
Wonderful and nice located hotel with a big terrace and a great view overlooking the area in Piemonte.
Very lovely rooms with balcony and a view. Everything was clean and neat.
We had dinner at the hotel several times - the food was nice, but a bit monotonous. Nice breakfast, but bland coffee.
A stunning place, with a superb location. There is room for about 80 eating guests and the weekends are full up! So choose weekdays!!!
The food is superb and the wine too - coffee and grappa is available for 25€.
Nice and clean rooms with stunning views.
Collina San Michele: Arriving at home: A glass of white wine and foccatia with rosemary to welcome us, the view over the vineyards, Fabricio's loudest "Buon giorno" every morning and simply enjoy.
It does not get any better.
