Chia is a small, beautiful oasis with fabulous white sand beaches, turquoise sea, cliffs and abundant wildlife, in particular, flamingos! Welcome to dreamy Sardinia.
The sandy is silky and white and there are sand dunes up to 30 metres high that contrast with the turquoise water creating a Caribbean colour scheme. You can dine in the wonderful restaurant 'Dune di Campana' in the bay, and taste the delicious flavours of Sardinia.
You can also have a lot of fun in the water here, as Chia is a paradise for surfers. The wind is just right, and there are many good surfing areas along this coast. You will struggle to find more beautiful and exotic surroundings than this in Italy.
Chia has a rich history (was founded as the city of Bithia circa 6 - 7000 BC) and is one of the most important archaeological sites in Sardinia. Here you can see a wonderful example of an early defence tower that dates to the 1600's. You can visit the Archaeological Museum inDomus de Maria and Cagliari to find out more about the area's history.
