Lovely to finally travel again. It's 8 years since my wife and I last went travelling. In the meantime we got a daughter, who's 7 now, and she was going to travel with us for the first time with her big brother of 16 years and of course mom and dad. We don't have lots of experience with travelling, so the next time we're to travel with the kids, there's some ambitions which have to be adjusted. When that's been said, Il Borgo di Punta Marana, in my opinion, has to be experienced again.
Lovely weather. wonderful beaches, and we visited, despite the kilometres of coastline, only the nearest beaches. The food is lovely, and fish/shellfish is just a food you need to appreciate. You are within a short distance of the nearby seaside "town" Golfo Aranci and Porto Rotonda, about a 15 minutes drive in each direction. We weren't bothered by a techno pumping bass or other dancing rhythms. Of course there was some noise from people in the evening, but the Italians just has a different circadian rhythm than us from the north. That's just the way it is.
English isn't their strong point at this part of the island. I had downloaded an App, and in abut 1 month my Italian vocabulary had improved. It was of immense importance, and made a lot of situations a lot easier. The two "hosts" Dario and Guiseppe were two great guys, who both spoke English well and were very hospitable. Thank you to them. 7 days of vacation, and it was vacation...

Porto Rotondo as a holiday destination
- Drink lots of water
- Practice some Italian
- Rent a car
- Try to follow the circadian rhythm
- If it's possible, book a room with air conditioning
