Because of Villasimius strategic point, the area has long been inhabited by different people and you can find both ruins of "Nuraghi" and Roman findings. Since the country in its time was under aragonisk and Spanish influence, Villasimuis was constantly invaded by Barbarians, which made people escaping form the area.

Villasimius is an old fishing village that has evolved greatly over the last 30 years. Today it remains a popular tourist destination, due to its many and very nice sandy beaches, and the surrounding nature, with mountains, rocks and small islands. In Villasimius you will find several restaurants, bars, shops, etc. The centre of the village is quite nice, however small. Here you'll find a small square and a nice main street with shopping - and dining opportunities.
