Hotel Dioscuri is located just off San Leone river estuary in the district of the same name (San Leone). This is a town that serves as a holiday residence for people from Agrigento, who come to spend their summers here.
Despite the proximity to the sea and the town's lively surroundings ii is actually quite quiet here. Near the hotel there are restaurants within walking distance and after approx. 1 km along the sea promenade you will find further pubs and cafes that are open until late at night. Hotel Dioscuri was originally a monastery, and has since received a thorough renovation and modernization. The ancient monk cells no longer exist, and many of the small windows have been replaced with larger glass panels and glass doors, which allow access to wide terraces furnished with table and chairs. The old convent courtyard has been covered and is now home to both the great hall and the restaurant's banquet area where the dining tables are set on a wooden deck, used especially in the case of major events, such as weddings and other formal ceremonies. Dinner can also be served at the restaurant located at swimming pool, where there is also the possibility of dining outdoors.
The hotel's strong point - besides the location and the wide terraces in the rooms - is undoubtedly the pool. It is large and inviting and offers sweeping views of the coastline and sea. There is an established sun terrace with sun loungers and parasols and a bar. If you want to lie on the beach, you will find the nearest beach approx. 500 metres away from the hotel - you have to cross a small bridge over San Leone River and then you are in a nice yellow sandy beach where you can sunbathe and swim.
The rooms are as they should be in a 4-star hotel without being luxurious. They all have air conditioning, wi-fi internet connection, mini-bar, satellite TV, safety deposit box, telephone, electric kettle, bathroom with toilet and shower and hairdryer. There are several types of rooms at different prices depending on whether they have sea views and / or exit to the terrace.
The hotel is also suitable for a long-stay if you come to relax or to experience a little more than the obligatory visit to the Valley of the temples in Agrigento.
