You stay in apartments located in Borgo San Gregorio. Opposite the houses there is a lovely beach and the views stretch right out to the Aeolian Islands. On clear days you can see the volcano Stromboli behind the islands of Lipari and Vulcano.

Borgo San Gregorio and Capo d'Orlando are ideal places for couples and families who want to experience an authentic environment in summer as well as in winter. Two restaurants (including the excellent fish restaurant La Tartaruga) and a pub are open all year round, a baker's van comes past daily, fishermen go out every day as long as weather permits and the daily catch can be bought as fresh as it comes. In the nearby Capo d'Orlando there are supermarkets, pharmacists, train station and all shopping facilities as well as plenty of restaurants, a tennis club and cafés.

The swimming pool (with salt water) in the nearby hotel La Tartaruga is open in the hot season (from middle of June till middle of September) and the guests from the apartments enjoy free access to the pool. But why use a swimming pool when the beach is just opposite? One good reason to relax by the pool would be the hotel bar and the ice cream bar, as well as the lovely terrace around the pool.

The Manager, Carlos, who backs this unusual initiative, welcomes the tourists and ensures they get a chance to visit the old fishing village, the sea and the Nebrodi mountains which are a few kilometers away. Carlos arranges excursions to the Nebrodi Nature Reserve all the way up to Monte Soro (1847 metres above sea level) and to Lake Maullazzo or to San Marco d'Alunzio and the Aeolian islands with a small boat sailing from San Gregorio.

The apartments all have own bathroom and kitchen, TV and terrace or balcony. They are on the ground, first, second or third floors and all have sea views. Obviously the views are better from the upper apartments.

Behind the houses the railway runs between Palermo and Messina. You have to expect some noise the few times a day when a train passes (the last train runs at approx. 21:00 hours and first train at approx. 06:00 hours). Some find the noise disturbing but others find it so slight that it is not worth mentioning.

The apartments Conchiglia, Gambero, Stella Marina, Spigola, Delfino and Dentice are of a somewhat lower standard and should be classified as category "2 sole".
