Welcome to this family run and family friendly farm in Sicily with a long and interesting history. You can sit and have a chat with some of the owners including the extended family that work here when you come. We won't spoil the story but it is fair to say that it has been a lifelong adventure, full of old family traditions with strong values and open hearts and that makes a stay here very charismatic indeed.
La Badiula is located in a very scenic area on the east coast of Sicily between Catania and Siracusa, between Carlentini and the sea. The great location close to a canal that leads out to the ocean at Agnone means that you can reach the beach on the family boat that on request sails between the farm and the beach. Otherwise it is around 5 to 7 km in the car depending on whether you go north or south of the canal, so you can bathe in both the pool on the farm and down at the beach.

You and your family can enjoy some great times outdoors (weather permitting) in and around the large swimming pool in front of the buildings which is 10 x 20 metres in size. From here you have wonderful views over the countryside towards the canal. Today, the farm consists of an older part with a reception and restaurant as well as a few rooms and a newer part with both apartments and rooms. In addition there is a playground and an area that can be used for both football and tennis. Children are very welcome here, and they can look forward to meeting the farm animals, including the sweet donkey Olivia and some horses called Bionda, Mora, Marcella, Navel, Tasqueta. There are also two ponies called Pallina!
The history of this farm began many decades ago with two brothers working hard to farm the land with little resource. They passed on these strong values of the Sicilian tradition to their children. Over the years, they have produced oranges of rare quality which are highly sought after, as well as other products such as zucchini, peppers, juicy tomatoes, eggplants and so on that you will find in the delicious home cooked cuisine in the restaurant. Note that on weekends the restaurant is quite busy as it is also open to external customers; however it is quieter during the week.
You can choose to stay in one of the four rooms on the 1st floor of the building above the restaurant. They have been furnished in a rustic style and all have air conditioning, television and a bathroom with a toilet and shower and hairdryer. Two of them have a balcony that face the pool and the canal.
Behind the main building is a newer building. The apartments and rooms here are equipped in the same way (air conditioning, TV, bathroom with shower and hairdryer) but are decorated and furnished in a more modern in style. They also have a small kitchenette and a dining area which consists of a fridge, a hob with 2 burners and a sink. The garden was redesigned in March 2013.
There is a small annex in the garden where you can enjoy massages, shiatsu, beauty treatments, sauna, Turkish bath and other treatments. A relaxing option perhaps after a long day of sightseeing ...

Agriturismo Badidula is a mix between a fourth star hotel and a agriturismo. It is a place where service is very important. The difference between the hotel and agriturismo guests is how often they had the room clean.
The food served in the hotel restaurant is soo good that we did not have to cook ourselves.
You will have to reserve a table if you wanna eat lunch at saturday or sunday because many of the italian comes here to eat. There is plenty of food, cake and fresh fruit. So much that you do not have to eat dinner that day.
The hotel is fine. We thought it was a smaller, family owned hotel, but it was apparently a larger hotel with 37 rooms. The swimming pool is OK, but closed between 13 and 15. All in all a pretty place.
That, to be aware of is, that the town, that lies closest, Letini, is pretty boring. The all have siesta at the same time, 13-20.00. It means that, you have to drive to the closest "real" town and restaurant, which is 10 km away. So you need to plan your days carefully.
The kitchen in the room is OK; but very small. So don't count on doing any large cooking.
Wonderful place in calm surroundings with room for children and families. There were quite a bit of locals by on the weekends to use the pool and eat at their restaurant, but on the week days we had good room at the pool.
We experienced great energy and friendly service at the place. They had order in their things, clean and nice and well kept everywhere.
Our only complaint would be the kitchen equipment, which they should re-evaluate. We, for example, only had 2 spoons.
