We ad a wonderful vacation at Terrazza Sofie.
Antonius welcomed us, when we arrived and make sure we got accommodated well, very informative, answered all our questions and even gave us a bottle of local wine as a welcome gift - it was very delicious.
We had a lovely view of the small harbour from our terrace, which worked as a nice part of the small kitchen.
The apartment is perfect for a couple or a couple of good friends on a vacation together, who don't sharing a double bed. There were plenty of room. The kitchen had everything you need, if you want to cook yourselves, and bath and toilet worked impeccably. Lovely with air con in the apartment, and really nice, that there's a lot of towels, also extra ones for visits to the beach, so you don't have to bring it in your suitcase. There was a lot of life on the lovely street, where the apartment was located, but when all the doors were closed, we didn't hear much of the sound on the street. So the place is soundproof.
I can recommend the cafe located down the street across from the entrance to the apartment, as a place to eat breakfast. Good service, delicious food, nice selection and cheap.

Castellammare del Golfo as a holiday destination

It was also nice, that the apartment is located above a tourist office, sp you each day can go in and ask questions on excursions, maps, bus timetables, bus stops, prices, etc.
It was very easy to navigate and get on excursions.
We had some nice trips to Scorpello, Lo Zingaro - lovely nature and beaches.
You don't want to go to the nature reserve in Lo Zingaro on the hottest day. It's very beautiful, but the terrain is harsh, and it's burning hot. There's a sandwich stand by the entrance, which is the last place you can buy anything before you go inside. The selection is limited, so I will recommend bringing some food from Castellamare :)
We also had a great day in Palermo, which is a city counterpart to the beach - relaxing vacation. Great town with lots of street market atmosphere and beautiful buildings/churches. Do visit some of the parks, if you've got the time. They are very beautiful. It takes about 2 hours with the bus to Palermo.
