Palazzo Maria Suites are almost too good to be true. The property dates back to the year 1139, but has obviously been carefully restored with full respect to the original structure. Because of some conservation restrictions, not all apartments have a balcony, but the huge roof terrace overlooking the cathedral solves this as there is so much space to relax, dine and sunbathe if you wish.
Here you are close to everything. In the same building you will find a newly renovated wine bar Enoteca which has a large selection of Sicilian wines and serves interesting Sicilian dishes. The location of these apartments on Piazza Duomo with the magnificent domed cathedral built by the great King Roger 2nd is the most sought after area in the city. Bars, shops, restaurants and the beach are all very close.

All apartments are quite neat and spacious. Most apartments have a balcony - and all have of course free access to the large roof terrace. Note that none of the apartments have an oven, but instead have a microwave.

A lovely apartment with the best location at the square, by the cathedral.
Really fine apartment with a fantastic location, just next to the central square, and 5 minute walk to the beach. Everything is just outside your door, you can do fine without a car.
You can't get a better accommodation than Palazzo Maria! Historical buildings by the steep square, next to 'La Rocca' and close to the beautiful Cathedral. The host was kind and helpful.
Wonderful clear water to swim in. Sand beaches on the one side and rocks on the other. The rock beach was the most beautiful, but remember to bring your own rock-shoes/bathing shoes as the bottom can be sharp. Our kid surfed one of the days.
The city has a rock on the 'backside', La Rocca. High and beautiful. Wonderful hikes with the best view.
The food was just great. Fish, seafood, tomatoes, egg-plants and buffalo-mozzarella. Bus as well a superb local butcher.
The restaurants was nice and tasty. One with a funky name - Chat Noir, but really great swordfish rolls with ricotta. Al Faro, wonderful location next to the habour, on the East side of the city - so fantastic!! The absolutely best restaurant of all time and with a personal service is La Brace (local family own, mama is by the pots and the son is serving). The same is with Chat Noir. Here we had the most unforgettable dinner our last evening. The restaurant 'Pirate Cave' with an ocean view, serves a superb lunch.
The train from Palermo to Chefalú was a smooth trip that took just about 45 minutes. The train from the Airport to Palermo is about an hour.
Palermo is worth visiting: magic, strange and weirdest thing that we have ever seen. The monumental trees are just amazing.
A boat trip to the Eolian Islands (Vulcano and Stromboli Lippari) was magical. You simply have to hike to the top of Vulcano!
Marcus from In-Italia is - as usual - a rock. Always in a good mood and very helpful!!
