Hard to find. Almost impossible to get a hold of our contact person, when we finally arrived. Nice apartment. The last two days the power suddenly went out. Couldn't use air condition in this period of time.

Cefalù as a holiday destination

Residence Magará is situated just a bit outside the city Cefalú, but it is possible to get around to the nearest beach and other beautiful places without car. Residence Magará is situated at the mountain side with a fantastic beautiful view over the city and ocean (from all apartments). You will really like it and do you self a favor and jump in the car to see a lot more. We often went on trips - but every time we returned to Magará with a happy feeling of being home. Andreas who runs the place was truly full of hospitality and great to inform about the city, attractions, necessary shops and parking. Do we have to mention that the pool was a hit?

Cefalú is a beautiful and unusual city compared to the location at the bottom of the rock. But the streets seems to have a small twist of tourists. The city has several of attractions and a beautiful beach but it struggle with a waste-problem, which does not get any better in the high season. Many of the restaurants offers delightful sicilian food, and some of them is situated just in front of the ocean.

We spent a week at the lovely Sicily, and we can say, that everything was been written about the place, the location, the view and the pool we certainly agree with. It was a bit hard to find cause the GPS could not find the address. We were also a bit distracted by the signs leading to VILLA MAGARA but that surely is not the same.

We did not notice, that we had to ask for a internet connection when booking the stay, but it did not turn out to be a problem. There is bad internet and phone-signal, but that how it is everywhere in Italy.

It could have been nice if there was a mailbox, where you could deliver the key when the office was closed. We just had to hang it at the door.

A cosy old city

We spend 10 days here together with the kids. The place is magical, and not only that: The staff is very accommodating, the residence is clean and it's a pleasure to enjoy the perfect view of the the Mediterranean, when you're eating or relaxing by the pool.

We have to do this again. :-)

Cefalú is a very lovely and elegant city. There's restaurants, shops, etc. enough to make both you and the kids happy.

To take a walk in the evening in the narrow streets is truly a pleasure.

Very nice accommodation with a great view on the mountains, sea and Cefalu!
Don't forget to take a navigation with you!
