Visit one of Sicily's exotic and historic small cities, that is more like a town really, with a cosy atmosphere. Here you won't need the car as you can get to the beach, the town, restaurants and shops on foot. The apartment is located next to the pedestrian zone so the passing traffic is limited.
You can fly to Palermo airport in the west of Sicily and take the train to Cefalù so there is no need for a car at all. From there you can move about by train, over to Milazzo in the east perhaps from where you can take the ferries to the enchanting Aeolian islands, some of which are volcanic, or take the train further east to see Etna, the smoking volcano.
If you arrive by car, it is worth knowing that the apartment is in a green zone, where access by motor vehicles is limited to a very short time. You can park along the beach road, and in payment car parks on the perimeter of town, around 200 metres from the apartment.
You should expect a simply furnished apartment, however it is equipped with air conditioning, satellite TV and a hairdryer. If you would like Wi-Fi connection, then it is a good idea to book it in advance and then the landlord will install a modem with no charge, but has a limited supply so it is first come, first served. Alternatively, most cafes and eateries in the town offer free Wi-Fi.
On the third floor you will find this nice apartment of about 35 m² with a furnished terrace, a lounge with a small kitchen area and a sofa bed, a double bedroom, a bathroom with a toilet and shower. We do not recommend this apartment for the disabled or young children as the staircase is quite steep.
Laid on the last street in Cefalu, down towards one the beaches. They were well-visited. A tourists city, but also a city with a local population. Was down at the local baker at 7 - back entrance - and bought the new baked bread of the day. And here it was natural to greet the locals. Tourists weren't there at that hour.
The apartments hit, was the terrace. With view over the ocean in a couple of directions. And towards the mountains in the back, lit in the evening/night.
So, when we had walked what we could, it ended on the terrace. We could follow the rest of the day's activities - in our area.
We saw a bridal couple walking - in the direction of the beach - with a following. A week day last in the afternoon. Incredibly beautiful.
