Cinisi is set back a little way from the seafront in a beautiful, hilly landscape, and can best be seen as a larger village. In the village you will find a good selection of restaurants, pizzerias, small supermarkets, fruit stalls and shops selling all sorts of Sicilian delicacies.
Cinisi is located in an area of traditional "mafia villages", so if one has a strong passion for mafia history then this village is the perfect setting for exploring the surrounding towns such as Montelepre, Partinico, Borgetto etc. Cinisi is actually famous for being home to the famous anti-mafia activist Peppino Impastato - a young radio host who dared to take on the local mob boss, a battle that later proved to cost him his life. There are many good beaches in the area including the one in Terrasini, Isola delle Femmine etc.
