Falconara is a small community in the municipality Butera. In reality, Falconara closer to Licata, along the coastal road that leads to the city Gela.
The small urban communities consist mainly of the beautiful castle, which was built by the Normans as a defense against Saracen attacks. Today, the castle still inhabited but is not open for visits. The beach below the castle is private and belongs to the nearby hotel and Fattoria di Falconara . Here is a small bar and a train station that the castle's own built back in the 19th Century, but unfortunately there are no more than two or three trains a day.
