San Noto was what we needed to recharge our batteries. At San Noto, Stefania reigns - and she does it in the best way possible. Here you are served as a king and queen by a more than helpful and attentive hostess, however, without being pushy. We enjoyed getting up and take the 10 stops out to a breakfast with the most delicious home made cakes, bread, marmalades, omelets, fruit and delicious olive oil and yoghurt. Every day - one (or more) new cakes. A guest had birthday - so there was birthday cake. Sitting in the good weather with seeds in your eyes, getting served and with the breathtaking view. That WE won't get tired of. We already wanna go back, when writing this - with a big smile. Going up and picking the delicious oranges and lemons directly from the tree and then eating them 2 min later! Uh it is good. uuh it is authentic. uuh it is vacation. The pool is fine, it is small, but fine at getting the heat washed off you. It works fine. I thought, personally, that it was nice that you could swim 6 lanes (30 m) without drowning. Stefania and San Noto leaves its mark. And we REALLY want to be back.
A few tips: Bring cash - most restaurants don't take cards. Ficarre lies 5-10 min away from San Noto in car, and it is worth at least one visit. It is a small cosy town. Take the time to sit and get coffee, ice, coffee, beer, wine or what you want at one of the small cafes. It is quite some experience to see the "old" playing cards, gesticulate so you fear that they are gonna hit each other. Restaurants in Ficarre: La Badia: it NEEDS to be tried. Try their antipasti - it is exquisite (and then plenty of it). Here you eat really well, wine selection is fine and it all is so cheap compared to Denmark. It was almost so cheap that we almost felt bad about it. The pizzeria New moon lies in the square. Good pizzas. We picked up there and ate it at San Noto. Il Barone: As at La Badia - high quality for "no money". Supermarket: Deco in Brolo: Drive through Brolo towards Cap D'orlando. There lies a big Deco a few hundred meters outside Brolo. Beach: The beach in Brolo is OK. There is a lot of stones, but it is OK. The sand is 1 billion degrees hot - so wear shoes. We learned that the hard way. We ran straight to the water from the parking lot. The water also gets deep pretty quickly so be careful if you are short. Read In-Italias recommendations for trips - they hold up.
